Is it possible to assign a specific ringtone to a contact in my address book for a BB 8800?

Yeah there is...well for the 8700 there is so i'm pretty sure the same steps below apply for the 8800:

Open a contact from your address book -->Edit--->push trackball in for Edit address options-->select Add Custom Phone Tune---> select tone ---Save.

I've just tried. nothing there for ringtones
Is it because the 8800 is from Rogers? Do other 8800 users from different networks have this ability?

Ok I doubt it has anything to do with Rogers. Try this there's another way through execptions from your profile screen.

Go into your profiles-->push in trackball-->New Exception--> at the From: field push in trackball and select Add Name-->select the name from your address book-->Continue
