Default Why I Gave Up My Storm2

I think BB is the best for texting and e-mail. It served me well but I had one major problem the keys are to close and to small. I constantly made typing errors. So I went to HTC-Thunderbolt nice phone but I wish BB would make a phone a little larger so an old person like myself can type easier.

I hear ya. Those Android phones have big, sexy screens. Virtual keyboards are easy to use when you have a 4" or 4.3" screen. Even the Droid's 3.7" screen is roomy.

The upcoming Monaco BlackBerry has me intrigued. Generally I have felt I simply MUST have a physical keyboard. The HTC Evo dispelled this myth so I'm willing to give a pure touchscreen BlackBerry a try.

I moved to a Thunderbolt from a Storm 2, as well. When I heard that my area was getting 4G service, that, combined with the pace at which RIM is advancing their platform, convinced me to switch. I'm hoping to move back in the future, but I have to admit that I like the device and the OS.

The thing I miss most about the Storm keyboard, which I think most people dislike, is the physical 'click' of the screen when typing, etc. Maybe it's a learning curve, but I always find myself typing letters or making selections that I really didn't intend on. I also miss the long-click for capitalizing letters, but I'm finding the keyboard layout to be more intuitive.

I'm looking forward to the 9850 as well.

I've loved my 9550 Storm2, I have fat thumbs, love the keyboard and can type like heck on it.

I don't have any problem with the 9800. And the physical keyboards on the 9000, 9700 and 9780 are pretty good also.

You callin' my fingers fat?

The issue I have is the lack of any confirmation, if you will. On my Storm, I could scroll all day long and as long as I didn't 'click', I was good to go. On my Thunderbolt, the slightest extra pressure when scrolling commits. The place where this is worst for me is when I'm filing messages, which I do religiously. I scroll down to find the folder to which to file, then oops, filed in the wrong place, with no way to tell exactly where I filed it. It (or I) got so bad I just stopped filing from the handheld and now wait until I have access to my notebook.
