No one 'really' knows when it's coming out. Some say mid-to-late October; so, we wait...

ps: I won't use the word lovely from now on...

The Giants did look lovely.
The Jets, as usual, lost. I don't care about a nice comeback. They still lost <sob>.

Some ice cream would be lovely...

4.2 would be good if it would support media transfers for 8700 series.
Well the 4.2 desktop manager says OS 4.2 is required for media transfers so it will probably work.

I expected 6-10 before the season started. Typical.

Yeah, I'm aware that it supports media transfers, but I wasn't sure whether it was only for the 8100 series. I did download the new desktop mgr, and it looks pretty good. But as Pizzle pointed out a few above, it should support the 87xx, so it should be good . Can't wait to do some mass picture transfers!

Just for clarity, it's not "should work". It does work.

I asked a bb rep when the 4.2 would be out for the 8700r. not until the new year. I guess its on the Rogers side of things right now to approve and test it. meh.

Unhappy got 4.2 .... cannot transfer anything

well i've read in this thread that version 4.2 has the Media Manager which " should " allow pics and ringtone transfers between my computer and 8700 but i can confirm it does not . i've tried everything and excuse me if i mistaked the purpose or topic but i get an error message saying something to the effect that my blackberry is not suppoted for media tranfers . oh well , i tried . by the way , i'm on cingular in NYC with desktop software version 4.2 now ... i see the media manager but it won't manage anything on my 8700c yet ...

as mentioned MANY times in the last few weeks, the desktop manager 4.2 is NOT the handheld software (OS) 4.2. you have to have BOTH in order to use the Media Manager included in desktop manager 4.2. your version of desktop manager should not exceed the version of handheld software loaded on your machine. desktop manager 4.2 was released by RIM because of the 8100's release (which is running, you guessed it, handheld software (OS) 4.2).

since you only have OS 4.1 on your 8700c, you should be using desktop manager 4.1, unless you purely want the novelty of having the latest version of desktop manager installed on your PC, even with its currently unavailable components.

thanks man. i just saw this. definitely a wonderful game. the LSU fan sitting in front of me (btw, screw the auburn fans who would sell their tickets in an Auburn section to a visitor) had a Cingular 8700c. we had a few minutes to talk about the devices, but after that we jawed back and forth (in good humor, of course - i'm a very obnoxious fan online, but in person, i'm one of those model citizens).
