Default Love the Pearl, Hate the slowness

Surfing the net on this thing seems to be a waste of time it's so slow. Accessing maps has the same problem. I'm on Cingular. Anybody else having the same problems?
Other than that I love this thing.

I have tmobile and I don't have any problems when surfing the net. I check my myspace and facebook all the time and experince minor delay, as expected from a cell phone.

Seems pretty good to me, minor delays but it still works great.

get the latest os upgrade. i think it was when i went to .64 my bbmaps performance improved dramatically.

my problem is with tethering to the laptop. for some reason, the connection is NOT stable whatsoever. usually it goes for about 5 min then it hangs. nothing will transmitt. i have to hangup the connection, then redial and it works again. very annoying, but when it does work its really not that bad. 22kB/sec is pretty good for wireless anywhere internet.

I have both pearl on Cingy and Q on Verizon (dont ask). Obviously the Q on Verizon is quicker; i get close to 100k/sec most of the time which aint too shabby. My pearl is slower but no so bad that I cant use it. I think sometimes its Cingy, sometimes the site. The screensize is more of an issue for me. Damn, sometimes I wish I had back my 8700 for the internet... But....

I pretty much just visit PDA formatted websites. Regular websites can be a bit annoying to load

Are you using the BB browser (or whatever its called) or opera mini? Opera mini is faster and has better layouts, IMO.

I'm with T-Mo and get EDGE at all times. That's the fastest connection. I get 115k when using it as a modem.

I am very pleased with the speed considering it's $20 monthly for BB and the data plan.

It's no broadband, but then again it's only a cell phone.

I access MySpace, NY Times and Goodle News at a good clip.

Are you getting "EDGE" connection or something lower? Maybe that is your problem.

I'm so accustomed to comcast cable on my home network that it gets frustrating at times. I have to remind myself that I'm using a slower network connection on the phone. All in all......my browsing experience is good.

Solution = Use Operamini (www.operamini.com)

Opera hosted servers auto resize the website you're viewing to fit your display and it compresses the contents so most sites load up in less than 64KB which is pretty amazing. It also does a great job handling layout, images, js, etc.

Best browser out there. I only use the BB browser once in a while.
