another case addict
Here's my list of cases/holders (those I already have and waiting to be delivered):
1. OEM holster (came with the 8700)
2. 2 Gizmoskin cases(both being held by super glue - works well)
3. 2 Piel Frama universal cases (one black and one tan)
4. Rugged case from Blackberrystuff.com (defective upon arrival)
5. Nutshell case (best case so far for me)
Waiting for...
6. Sena case (flip cover case)
7. OEM Blackberry leather case
8. 2 specially made Nutshell leather sleeves to carry in my pocket
...still trying to find the perfect case. The Vaja looks nice but I don't think I like the clip. I have the Rivets system on another phone and hate it. I took the belt clip of of the Rivets and put it on my Discovery headset to carry on my belt.

You do realize that both of you have more money in cases than the damn 8700 is worth? I like cases too, but it'll take me a while to scratch the phone and pay for either a new one or a repair...but you guys have already paid for 2 phones in wasted cases...wtf? Too much cash and time on your hands guys...yer both whacked IMO.

LOL.
I'm actually an accessory whore. I find myself buying every accessory I can get my hands on for the device I use daily.
When I sold my Treo 650 a little while back I sold it with three cases, two cradles, three extra styli, Egrips, two car chargers, one mini-sync cable, a Treo bluetooth headset, an extended battery, a replacement battery door (with reset hole), extra USB cable, Pocket PC Techs screen protectors and a few other items as well.
So make me an appointment at the "accessoryologist."

I did the same thing with my Treo 650. I sold it on ebay last year with a ton of accessories and cases.

Yeah, for me the money has nothing to do with it.
It's about finding the right case. I don't end up using all of the cases I buy. I'll stop buying them once I find the one I like best (hoping this will be the case with the Vaja.) Then the others end up sitting in my desk drawer until I sell the device (once the next best thing comes along) and they get rolled into the deal.
Beleive it or not some of them just get thrown away (like the Rugged Case and the Sport Foam Holster.) I'll give some away too or sell one or two individually as well.

Yah, I know, I know...I just love cases. $$ ? Well, I AM a physician, although I don't make a ton of $$$ but I use different cases for different occasions/work situations. Yeah, yeah, I guess I am just trying to justify my purchasing these cases.
BTW, lgreenberg, I think I own more Treo 650 cases than you did...am still using my Treo with my BB...Treo now stays in medical bag...BB is my main phone/email/browser.

I know I know...I have my passions too...and don't give a sh_t about laying out cash...and I love the BB...but, it's a BB...if it drops and breaks or scratches...I'll go get another one. Not that I don't get it, I do...but, for me...it's a BB...and in a year, it'll be gone and replaced by a 9700 anyway...

You must be the "caseologist" referred to in this thread...we have to rename this thread to "8700 Case Wars!"

I can't remember if I posted it in this thread or another one, but the 77XX leather case works and fits the 8700 perfectly (needs a slight magnet add on). RIM solid with strong rotating beltclip too! Holster profile works every time. Fits like a champ.

wow. i thought i had a problem. i need to point my wife towards this thread to give her some perspective.
i loves me some vaja cases; i bought her an ivolution for her treo 650 that even she had to admit was cool. i have to say that the images of the new vajas for the 8700 left me a little disappointed, and i'm not really sure why. i'd love to hear what you guys think once you get yours.
i have the oem 8700 leather holster on pre-order from smartphone depot, but i have my doubts that i'm going to be happy with it. i'm hoping for something like the 7290 leather holster, but i'm thinking it's going to be a pouch with a clip on it like the pics in one of the threads here. the part number on SPD's site matches the one here: http://www.tricell.ca/order_accs.php?phone=193
hard to tell from that thumbnail, but that looks like a pouch with a clip to me.

I haven't seen any posts about their cases in here. lgreenberg - get out your wallet, there's a new case in town!

I ordered two myself. They look nice but I'm just wondering if they are really for the 8700 or are they for another BB and they are just passing them off as 8700 cases.

Looks like they are universal PDA cases, not 8700-specific. www.naztech.com That said, they do look nice. Let us know how they work for you, Jack, and if they have a sleeper magnet.
