Against my better instincts I installed this and... it fixed the 404 errors that there used to be on the setup wizard... nice.

Every problem I had is solved with this version. Wow. I can post on forums w/o a hassle, there are no more error messages when I open my email, and my calendar even seems to be working properly. My themes also stayed in tact after a test reboot. Joy!

Wait a minute!

Are you saying your themes maintain folder structure and icon placement after reboots? That is the only real issue I am having with the other 8820 version. I use the Today Plus theme and icons are moved and folders disappear after resets. I'd upgrade to get rid of that annoyance.

it did for me. I was going to get rid of today plus all together, but when I did the reboot just to test it, everything was right where I left it.

Today Plus theme still resorts back to default icon/folder setup after battery pull for me with this OS.

Does it actually hang or does it just need time to open and view the pictures? If it's hanging, I'd say backup your files and reformat the card. Then move the files back.

Something similar on my upgrade from 4.5.0.46 to this new 4.5.0.55.... the media file that holds the pre-loaded pictures/wallpapers is "definitely" not in the java folder! So BB Desktop Manager removed them as part of the install!

I know they are not required or perhaps even needed, but there are a few I do like. I went back to the 4.5.0.46 install files and found the file (net_rim_bb_medialoader_320x240_b.cod) then put it back into the Loader files Java Folder but have been (so far) unable to get it to re-install???

Otherwise; 4.5.0.55 is fine ///

Yes, wallpapers were removed from the latest versions of 4.5. That shouldn't be the cause of mughni's issue.

You can get the wallpapers here:

EDIT: Fixeed the maps problems, found anotehr thread with details.

I do have a query, in applications directory the IM clients are in there (MSN, ICQ etc.) but do not appear on the available applications list. also if i manually browse to these ALX's it says "no addtional appications designed for your device were found" from what i understand this is normally if you dont have the device software installed, but i do, and i'm trying to istall it from this anyway!

what am i doing wrong? what do i have to do to install MSN.alx? (live messenger)

So, for those of you who have upgrade to this from the .52 version, is it worth the time and effort or do you suggest waiting for something newer. The only issue I have that has not yet been corrected in the .52 version is the BB Messenger need to update contacts...

I have not had an issue with BBMessenger contacts on ANY of the 4.5 OS's. Not sure what's causing this. If it were me, I'd clear the BBMessenger database and then restore it again from the loader backup.

Every recent upgrade of the os has screwed my bb by giving me the no os error. Is this usual or am I doing something wrong?

I would guess it's an issue with your USB port or drivers. I've had that happen only one time that I can remember.

Hey,
I'm on OS 4.2.2.193

I can do a direct upgrade with this one right?

Also,
Can I use the Maps and BBM features without any flaws? I've heard that Maps was down and I'm currently having problems with BBM right now
