Hi all

for the uk users, whats your 3G signal like where you live, do you have any issues with it at the moment. would be good to know what area you are and the network you using.

just an idea to see what network actually is offering the "better" service. (all networks indicate 3G being good in most areas)

Thanx

Mine is mixed - I live in London and generally have 3G maybe 60 or 70% of the time. I'm on O2. I have to confess that I don't notice 3G being much faster than GPRS.

To be quite honest, the only real advantage I can see to 3G is that you can send/receive emails while on the phone. I notice little difference when browsing the web with GPRS, EDGE, 3G or WiFi - wish I could say otherwise.... but I don't!

I'm on Orange. Living in the West Midlands the 3G signal is great. I also travel across/around the country extensively as part of my work and usually find I have a 3G (strong) signal. If not 3G I find I get a very good GPRS/EDGE signal. I rarely have dropped calls and I'm always able to make a successful call.

I find the speed boost from 3G signal to be very useful, especially for apps such as Google Maps. Simple things like SMS's seem to go faster too.

When it's working the Orange coverage map will give you much more detailed info on coverage hxxp://coverage.orange.co.uk/uk/UKCoverageSearch.htm
