Forgive me in advanced but I thought it would be easier to just ask here rather than waste time on the web searching for an answer;

We, the company I work for, run a Blackberry server to send emails to the VIP's BB. Someone went to Verizon and bought the new Q, handed it to me and said, "Make it work with our BB server."

Yeah, okay...

Can this be done?

I believe the Q is Blackberry Connect enabled, so it should be able to connect to your BES (I BELIEVE a WAQ), but you would get better results in the BES Admin section and you may want to pull the manual out for it.

Ummm there is anb active sync plugin or something for exchange directly. There is no need to go through your bes(nor is there anyway to do IIRC)

I think it requires a service pack to exchange to update the exchange activesync app......not 100% sure about what is needed though since its been a while since I checked.

I don't think it was bb connect enabled.

When I get out of this meeting I can check though.

I believe in order to get the Q working on your BES, you have to have Service Pack 2 installed for Exchange (assuming that's your email system), and the SP2 Exchange Tools installed on the BES.

Lol sorry about that, I didn't see your full post. But I would like to place my answer in the guess column as well.

Well that's promising. We're running Exchange w/ SP2. Where can I found some more info on how to do this? Maybe a write up or some one I can contact.

Thank all!

I do not believe there is BB Connect available for the Q. I have never seen nor heard anyone running a Q on a BES.

With Exchange 2003 and the new feature pack you can directly push to the Q, but I am not sure of any other way.

I would check out Microsoft's website.

I don't have any more info on it since we are standard on Blackberry devices and won't even entertain a Q creeping in here (and management backs me up!)

Considering we're set up to be a BB shop and it works, we should not bother with anything else. The new BB are nice enough. I advised my boss of this; I hope he agrees.

Thanks again all.
