When are you going to intergrate the sounds into the BB Profiles? I got bit recently forgetting that I had IM+ running, hit my profiles set to Quit and then someone IMs me. Bing... Ooops I said grabbing the BB.
Yeah the shortcut for mute will be nice but it is just not the same....

SHAPE,
Great progress improving on the IM+ software. Especially improved battery life, which is one of the most important attributes of chat software to me. I now need to re-review IM+ compared to JiveTalk.
While low priority, someday, one thing I'd love to see added eventually is File Transfer support. It may not be that important, but I've started using File Transfer a lot more now that I got the Curve which has the built in camera. I love transmitting my cameraphone photos to my desktop MSN contacts; works great on my Curve. They are impressed I can transfer files directly from a cellphone. (Albiet 500 kilobyte images from the 2 megapixel camera does take about one minute to transmit, I can at least chat simultaneously in JiveTalk while the file transfers.)

Mark, IM+ has a kind of "file transfer". You have to go to Settings > Advanced, and check the box next to "Integration with RIM file browser". It won't send big pics, though. I used camera settings: "Small" and "Superfine". I just sent one via GTalk. It works by sending a web link, which recipient clicks on. Sending is real fast, about 5 seconds.
I guess because it is a link, it should work with the other IM's. Tomorrow I'll try ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo.
I'd like to hear if someone can get it to send 500KB pics like JiveTalk can.
IM+ is not perfect but I like it more than JiveTalk.

This new version is really good. I'm still waiting for two things, alert sounds integrated with the BB profiles, and Skype chat support.

Hello don.new,
We will think about integrating sound alerts with the BB profiles.
If you are a fan of Skype let me draw your attention to another application that we have developed - IM+ for Skype that enables voice and text communication with other Skype users and provides cost-effective calling to landlines and mobiles.
Thank you and regards,
Irene

Yes I use IM+ Skype but it would be so much better to have it included in the All-in-One product don't you think?

Yes, I am sure it would be better.
Due to technical reasons it is not possible for now. Still it is a great area for development.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi xxxdev or SHAPE,
Is it possible to configure IM+ to use ONLY WiFI? I have a mobile data plan with my 8320, but it's not unlimited, and I spend most of my time in or around WiFi hotspots. I'd like to be able to configure IM+ to only connect when WiFi is available, and to never use the cellular data service, so I can save my data bytes.

Hello KeyLoveMobile,
Please set a BB transport as "default". If that won't work please wait until the new version is released with a Wi-Fi support.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your very quick response, Irene. I think I will have to wait for the new version, because I think a setting of "Default" will do the same as many apps: it will use Wi-Fi while available, but then will switch to cellular transport automatically when Wi-Fi goes away. I'd like it to disconnect instead.
I don't want to ask, but I can't help myself... are you working on a version with Wi-Fi support, or is that merely a feature on a wishlist for the future?
