I have today tried to activate a BB using the BB Web Manager.

When I connect the phone using USB it loads the drivers and then pops up a dialogue box asking for the PIN we have tried the users handset pin 3 times but it keeps saying it is wrong and also says if we get it wrong one more time it will wipe the BB Handset.

We can unlock fine with the users pin on the handset. ??

The Web Manager will not seem to activate without getting this PIN correct.

Any ideas greatly recvd.

I think I may have realized why. the user thinks his pin is 4 numbers but I wonder if it is actual letters. I will try tommorow

PIN password or PIN of device which is 8 characters in hex

I think what the user refers to is the PIN of the SIM card. It consists of 4 numbers. This should not be confused with the device password which can be numbers and letters and any length.

If you connect your device via USB and you want to access it, you are normally asked for the device password (if you have set one).
