Default Backup Content Store to BES?

Please Login to Remove!

See the following: Backup process for a BlackBerry device (KB12487).

Is it possible to backup the Content Store to the BES? I just inadvertedly wiped a 8310c and deleted my CFO's photos since I wiped a device. Looks like my name is mud and there's not much I can do.

It's always best to make a full backup before doing anything, just in case something doesn't come back. Thanks for the KB article with the specifics, though. I hadn't read that one.

Yeah, I learned my lesson now. I figured, Hey, I think I'll only lose SMS messages since everything else is backed up to BES. Normally I do take backups on Desktop Manager on my PC of anyone's blackberry before I make changes.

And I do see with test, that pictures stored on the device itself are backed up in the content store portion of the .ipd file with Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2. So, had I taken the 60 seconds, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Thanks for the link also, hadn't seen it yet either. That "wireless backup to BES" ... too many things to consider. What version of BES? Device software? What cannot get backed up wirelessly. Full backup via Desktop Manager I think is simpler.

Exactly. It's a one-way street. They know what OS we have on our device but nowhere on our BB does it tell us the version of the BES.
