is there any external GPS that you can use with the pearl? i heard that it doesnt have it built it, but is there any bluetooth GPS or anything external you can get for it? programs...anything? hah

Click on this link and read through the posts. The last post is from someone that has a link to his website called Stinsonddog's BB Tips. Once on his website scroll down about halfway through the page and under My Likes click on the link that says Blackberry GPS Applications. He seems to have quite a bit of info about bluetooth gps.

holux slim240 works flawlessly with pearl.

Now if Google maps would just update their software to support gps for bb

Looks like they just did... v1.5.1 appears to support GPS on the 8100...

Yes it does! And it supports it on the 8800 as well.
