Hi there,

I upgraded from OS 3.7 to Os 4 and now the speed is a real issue. How can I downgrade? I have tried removing the upgrade from Add/Remove programs however I get a fault saying that the program cannot find "_is603" - what can I try now? I read that I need to use javaloader.exe where do I get this file?

Is it not possible to totally wipe the handheld and start over again?

Please help!

By the looks of it your on the right track, correct with uninstalling the 4.0 exe on your PC re-install 3.7.x.x then search your machine for a file called Vendor.xml and move it to the trash. Then run your application loader from the desktop manager and that should do the trick.

Thanks, I managed to get the handheld back to version 3.7 and also reverted back for the Desktop Manager. I do however have one problem. I cannot remove the "BlackBerry v4.0 for the 7200 Series Wireless Handheld" in the Add/Remove Programs it keeps looking for a file titled "_is603" - can anybody help? How can I get rid of this? Please help.

Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
-search for BlackBerry until you find the key for the title you listed. delete the key.

I deleted the key, but the box is still prompting me to install at startup and sometimes during Sync. Any other suggestions?

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared\loader files\

that should have the installation files. just delete those.

If you are getting the hourglass all the time, make sure you free up memory (i.e. make sure you have over 1 megabyte free in Options->System) .... Do this by uninstalling unnecessary applications and deleting old emails using the "Delete Prior" feature.

I have done all of the above and I still get a Windows Installer box every time I log into Windows asking me to locate the file: _is603 which is not present on my pc anywhere. I cannot uninstall the Blackberry v4.0 for the 7200 Series Wirelss Handheld from the Add/Remove Programs either as it is asking for the same file to progress. Please HELP!

Regarding the _is603 error, I think at this stage I would suggest uninstalling BlackBerry Desktop.... i.e. removing everything (i.e. as if BlackBerry Desktop was never installed)

After this is done, rename your old "Research In Motion" folders (if they still exist) in
both C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files\Common Files

Then reinstall BlackBerry Desktop.

Then download and run the BlackBerry OS 3.7 installer.

Then run BlackBerry Desktop to install OS 3.7
