Hello,

For BES users on previous device models, we had the ability to switch browser between Internet Browser and Blackberry Browser in the Browser Options. This let us use the MDS or the raw internet as needed.

Can we still do that with the torch? I do not see it in options. much less options in options on the Torch actually.

I don't think so, the OS 5 browser is suppose to autosense which browser to use.

OS 6 bundles with web kit into browser which has feature of switching browsing mode automatically like whenever you select wifi from options it will automatically opt for it so it handy feature where i understand it is good as i was tired switching browsers in OS 5

Simplified Browser yes, however having it default it to "auto" for our user base would be great, and an option to manually still specify path would be nice.

Case in point. I now have a Torch. Most of my user base has lesser models. This week after having some synch issues and restarting the BES (amoung other things) the MDS service hung on startup I suppose. it all looked fine even the MDS log, but it wasn't processing browser requests. When I tried to surf the web on my Torch, no problem because it was going straight out to the Internet, with no option to manually force through MDS. Most of my User Base did have a problem, so I had to get someone with a lesser model (Bold) to work with while I investigated.
No big deal now that I know, but it added to what was already a bad Admin Day.
