As the 4.2 for 8700 is in the testing phase by some carriers now, what are the official features in 4.2 for 8700. I have found many posts of what we all like to have in the new release!!

With no "Official" release of 4.2 yet for the 8700 series, there will not be any sort of official list of anything. Nothing is confirmed until its released. All you are going to get is speculation and rumors...But if rumors are what you are after, let the rumors soar!!!!

Well according to the 4.2 beta heres a few things

Ability to switch Data Services OFF
Ability to have data encryption ON but exclusion of Address Book entries.
Ability to add ringtones and pictures using 4.2 Desktop
Mapping software
More than likely a more stable OS.

Hope this helps

If Telstra are testing it, then I don't think what is in it will change..Maybe they might be first again, as should be next month which I think is strange as they will release the 8800 at the same time!!

MyFaves is included in the 4.2 OS as well. It is just disabled by all of the other carriers. That is the MAIN reason I need 4.2.

no videos as the 8700 has no SD micro card slot, plus the onboard memory is too small to hold videos. I am sure if you load a small video it will greatly slow your device down, IF 4.2 will be released for the 8700 series. TMO says they don't know if they are gonna support 4.2 on the 8700, as they will be getting the 8320 shortly and possibly the 8800 as well.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

You will fall in love again with your 8700 when you get 4.2

Nevertheless, it's not official until officially released or announced... You can't miss the 4.2 speculation threads here, for what they're worth.
