They'll be so hot they'll be like Cabbage Patch Dolls and Beanie Babys this year. BestBuy will be beating people away with sticks they'll be so hot!
Seriously they'll be toast at anything over $300 with contract, even with the iPhone. The Bold will be regarded as equivalent to the iPhone (no matter what we BB people think). If it's more people will go with that, and considering what ATT has to shell out to Apple for every iPhone they deliver I would think they'd rather sell BBs.

Rewardzone gives you 20% off smart phones. $349 - 20% = $279.

Keep dreaming. The iphone has lived up to its expectations and more. I serious doubt the Bold will have such wide appeal outside the BB faithful. That's of course, if it ever gets released. The AT&T Bold is seeming more and more like vapor ware the longer it passes.

The BOLD comes out Nov. 4th. It was announced earlier this week by AT&T. What expectations has the iPhone lived up 2 besides sales? Dropped calls, lack of notification for emails, still no MMS and copy & paste, etc make the iPhone not as great as most make it out to be.

I was being semi-sarcastic, saying that the Bold will have to sell at a price equal to the iPhone ($300) to keep pace in ATT sales. ATT has to kick Apple $200/phone signup now so their balance sheet is gonna suck for awhile until they make it up in more contract money over the next couple years. BB Bold will sell hundreds at a time to corporate clients, not one at a time to the folks like the iPhone. BB's potential is far greater, their projections are greater, than the iPhone's. Best Buy doesn't sell hardly any phones, they sell HDTVs and CD/DVDs everybody knows that. Has anybody here gotten a cellphone at Best Buy ever?

If those prices are right then it means ATT is trying to get back some of the fortune they are losing on the iphone. I would bet anything the Storm won't be that much when VZ releases it.

It's now on the BB website:

AT&T - BlackBerry Bold 9000 Cell Phone - Black - 9000

Doesn't look like it will be available as soon as being posted though.

People are still buying them like crazy, so I guess its not as big a problem as you think.

And I guarantee there will be more demand for the Storm then for the Bold. The Bold is mostly the same old, same old with some new tricks, the Storm is a completely different BB.

I guess we really need to know if the Storm will initially be available for GSM networks as well as CDMA or will Verizon have the exclusive? It is supposed to be both CDMA and GSM capable in North America from what I have heard. Cannot believe that would be the case, at least initially however.

The Vodafone Storm 9500 is GSM, although there will be a difference in the 3G networks if you brought one over here.

I agree 100%... it's got a nice speed bump, it's not revolutionary though.

Just left Best Buy in Miami, they have the dummy floor model out but when I asked if they had any available they advised sometime next week...(that tells me the 4th)..

I just cant understand why AT&T would release it on election day....How about on the 3rd that makes more sense..

What happened?

My guess is the rumor began to circulate because people spotted all the demo models being setup as well as the sales circular advertising the Bold for $399.

It's a logical conclusion to assume that the phone would be available if it was advertised.

Unfortunately it seems that the advertising was a week or so ahead of availability.
