note: hers is made in Canada and mine was made in Mexico....don't know if that has anything to do with the quality.

1. Call quality - excellent
2. Handset microphone - excellent
3. Screen clarity - before the dust problem - excellent ...now ...not so good.
4. Construction/build quality of the device - see #3.
5. Camera quality (overall picture quality) when new - excellent ...pics taken after about 3 days ...not so good.
6. Battery life - seems to vary, but I have no real complaints.
7. Internet & E-mail speeds - at least as good as I thought it would be.
8. Input tools (trackball, keyboard, buttons) - excellent.
9. Ringers & Speaker phones - excellent.
10. Operating System performance - excellent.

I have only one issue, and it happens when I'm talking on the phone. If I am wearing the Bluetooth earpiece in my right ear, and put the Curve in my left front pants pocket, the signal gets noisy. If I move the Curve to my right front pants pocket, the signal cleans up. The Curve seems to stay connected even if I move a fair distance away from the phone...but it's just not as sharp a signal as I would have expected.

Thumbs down my 2 cents

lag, lag, and more lag. 8700>8300. everything lags don't know if it's because of all the new bells and whistles but i am about to switch back to the 8700. i have never experienced any lag with the 8700. 3rd day with the 8300 and i'm not happy.

just curious, how many 8300 users were 8700 users because the 8700 is rock solid, no doubt, no lag! i can go to tmobile and get another 8300 BUT if there are so many good reviews on the 8300 is it just a bug? doesn't seem like it could be a bug with so many people complaining about the lag. so my theory is that most of these users praising the 8300 were not 8700 users and don't know how good the 8300 really should be.

just a few thoughts because I feel short changed on this 8300. suppose to be an "upgrade" but i feel like i lost my speed and reliability that i expect from bb. i'm feeling that it's the camera and multi-media stuff that is on the 8300 creating this lag. that's why i ditched the treo years ago, i use the bb 100% for messaging communication. hardly even use the phone. this is very frustrating now.

I have had no problems with my red 8310. It works fine. It maybe the best phone I ever had. I just wish that I could fix the '+' and '011' in my address book so that the person's name will show up for both sms and calls. Yes, I did do what was posted but it does not work...
P.S. I was a 8700 owner until I got my 8310 and the 8700 is a good phone too...

everything is great, only problem after 5 months is a glitch with the Desktop manager synching with my Outlook Calendar. And the problem may have been on Outlooks end.

A+ for me!

1. Call quality - Quality is fine... As good as any other phone I have had. The issue is signal and thats a carrier issue.
2. Handset microphone - havent put it through too many tests since I use my bluetooth ear piece more than anything.
3. Screen clarity - Simply put... Amazing
4. Construction/build quality of the device - Solid... Nothing loose or misaligned. Nice weight too IMO
5. Camera quality (overall picture quality) - Not bad but for a 2 mp I expected more. The zoom is a joke but I have a real camera for real pictures
6. Battery life - Very good... I play some games, listen to music, read email and oh yes make calls and the battery is still at half full
7. Internet & E-mail speeds - This is a carrier limitation... Email works very well along with SMS but I have issues with sendin images via MMS. I dont use the BB for surfing cause its painfully slow
8. Input tools (trackball, keyboard, buttons) - Love the track ball love tha ability to adjust it sensitivity. Keyboard is nice even with my big fat fingers stomping on the keys
9. Ringers & Speaker phones - Ringer is fine love the ability to use mp3's for ringers and its nice to be able to adjust all the settings for it.
10. Operating System performance - So far so good. Rock solid and stable

I have owned the 8300 for about a month and a half. I dont see a time to replace it anytime soon.
Easily the best phone, pda, I have EVER owned. Quality item all around

If everyones 8300 did as yours this forum would be indicating that.

You either have too much loaded up on yours or it need to be replaced.

i purchased it 2 days ago and didn't add anything to it except for my 2 gmail accounts, that's it.

just came back from tmo. swapped for a brand new one. at least my emails working as they should.

only problem i have still is the lag. first thing i did was change my conveniece key to profiles (ringer) and as soon as I hit it to change between ring + vibrate, the timer comes on. took 2 or 3 seconds just to change the ringer profile. maybe this doesn't bother others but it's a problem for me when i "upgrade" my older phone. i know, i know, 1st generation's need to have the kinks worked out so we will see how it goes.

i am at work now so I mess with the new phone until tonight.

i will re-post tonight.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8320: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I had to return my first 8320 due to constant reboots, but my replacement seems to be working fine. I hope so anyway

I'm a big fan of the Curve. I have a 8310 from at&t and aside from sporadic voice quality issues (incoming voice changing volume, anyone having this), this phone is awesome. I have had a Treo and a Q and they just don't compare to the Curve. There are some times when I miss 2 way ota sync of email though.

I'm good. Only complaint is syncing my contacts but I'm on a Mac.
Love the size - much better than my Palm 700p. Everything else has been a great surprise and smooth sailing.

I would give my 8320 Curve a 95%. I have had no issues of any kind, email setup perfectly, UMA works great at home and at work...it's been addicting!
