Default BES 4.1.7 to BES 5.0 SP1 Migration issues

Please Login to Remove!

We're currently on BES 4.1.7 and I wanted to start fresh with a new Db, server and everything. Got the new SRP, set up the new server, created the new Db and started using the transporter tool to migrate some test folks over.

Out of the 10 I attempted, although all devices appear to be functioning just fine, 8 of them I couldn't access any BES account information for the user from within BAS. When I would click on either the user or the PIN it would just pop up and say "The request could not be completed.".

Upon further research, I found this KB article which resolved the problem if I used the workaround:

View Document

HOWEVER, this is a totally unacceptible workaround as it requires much more of a hands on approach that I had anticipated and we really have to many devices for that.

I will be reaching out to RIM today but thought I'd post here as well to see if others had encountered the same issue and possible came up with a solution?

Just one quick bump to make sure nobody else has seen this issue crop up and know of a solution.

i have heard other people having this issue too. not positive but i think the BET 5.0.2 might fix it.

Good call! I'm on 5.0.1.18. I'll look into this and thanks so much for the response!

Hrmmm.... Do you by any chance know where I might fight that version? The one I have is the latest one they have available in BB Expert Support Center.

Default Free Migration Tool

You might want to check out a free migration tool from SteelCloud - called Transporter+. It was shown at WES.
