Default T-Mobile & the Infamous 8320

Please Login to Remove!

Haven't seen any threads in awhile with gossip and rumors; last I heard, the delay was with the UMA handoff causing problems. I'm starting to get really antsy and don't want to waste money on an 8300 (or 8310), I want my Wifi!

Who's got the scoop? Anyone know a guy who cuts the lawn of a guy who drives cars for a guy who knows a man with a brother who works at T-Mobile headquarters? Or maybe dated a girl who has a sister who once cut the hair of a guy who was talking to a guy at RIM headquarters on the phone?

Deets, spill. I'm anxious.

I called AT&T last night and asked about it. They are telling me sometime around Aug. 20th. It would be avib in stores however first..

I think you're thinking of the 8820 and not the 8320 which is supposed to be coming to T-Mobile and not at&t.

Yeah I think the thread title with 'T-Mobile' in it was a dead giveaway, but as usual I am constantly surprised.

I dunno, but I'm driving myself nuts waiting for this to come out, or for T Mobile to at least give an official release date.

As I bide my time with my (otherwise perfectly functional 8700g) waiting for the 8320 I find it tougher by the day *not* to get an iphone (I know I know...)
If they fix the mail client in the next rev I may have to give it a shot...

You can buy the 8820 from AT&T and have it unlocked for T-Mo. Only a week to go!

I still do not understand what the big deal is about WiFi!

Well if I lived in the States then I would agree with you but here in Canada data rates are crazily high so wifi would save me some data usage.

WiFi and UMA is the big deal. I have crappy coverage (TMO, VZW, Cingy) in my house. UMA will help me a great deal.

You'll never know - not if you're on an unlimited & non-capped data plan.

If you had to pay $200/mth JUST for data alone for 100MB & CAPPED! You'd understand; just think thats $188US @ current currency conversion ($.94/US for $1CAN dollar)

It's expensive here but that's exaggerated. The rate is $100/mth for 200MB.

Great, if you want an 8820. This is an 8320 thread, thanks for playing!

This has been covered in 1000 threads -- it may not be useful or make sense to 50% of folks, but to use other 50% we know exactly what we want it for...

Lol, I've been using the curve for over 1 month now, believe it or not. I'm looking forward to trying the 8820, 8310 and 8320 in the near future.

I really like the BlackBerry Curve much better than the BlackBerry 8800 I was using previously. I am not going to bother getting the 8310 as I have a Holux GPSlim 240 receiver already so for my GPS needs but I am definitely looking forward to having a WiFi enabled BlackBerry especially with the high data rates that Rogers Wireless and other Canadian carriers are charging.

What in particular do you like better on the curve over the 8800? I've only had the curve and not the 8800.

I like the fact that I have A2DP, It's a sleeker device, I prefer the keyboard on the 8300 over the 8800, having a camera is nice this way I don't need to take a digital camera everywhere I go for those spur of the moment pics with the family or at work with various presentations or what not. The 3.5mm jack is great as I was always misplacing the 2.5-3.5mm adapter I was using with the 8800. I'm always plugging the iPod adapter into it and using my BlackBerry in the car now.

I'm in the same boat!!! I went to return my 8100 a couple weeks ago saving my discount for the 8320. I've been waiting impatiently for this new berry to arrive! Logging on BBforums 10 times a day looking forward to hear more news on this device is keeeeeling me lol. I don't care much for GPS since my car has highend navigation, but wifi is definately something I'm looking forward to hope they throw in a 3 mega pixel camera too :P
