Google Maps pissing me off...
Please Login to Remove!
The google maps app seems to get crappier. It is slower for me, and always crashes. The biggest issue is now my GPS location hardly updates, once it has me, it sticks in that spot or rarly when it does update, its only every 5-10 seconds. I'm using the same puck (some Holiux from the palm gps kit) as always and it still works fine with bb maps, telenav, navizon, bbtracker and that microsoft live crap..so what gives? I can even turn off the puck and turn it back on and no change..stupid and yes..this is after 1.61 1.62, 63 and the so-on i just dont rememebr exactly when it started..

When you update the application, do you delete the previous one before the new install? If not, do that.

I could never get GM's to work on my 8310 - I love TeleNav though!

Google Maps works fine on my 8320. I did have a phone call permissions issue but going to the Application Permissions for Google maps and setting it to Allow first fixed the issue.

I downgraded to 1.6.0, it seems to me every version that has the Find Business and Location crashed. 1.6.0 is the alst version to have these seperated. I understand the Search only idea and i liked it better, but the program did not seem as stable.

The Pearl 2 sucked. I went back to 1.5.4 but it hangs as soon as it finds my location :/

I used Live Search on a trip today, it worked really well. It seemed to load faster than BB Maps on the fly.

I found Live search to produce much worse local search results then google maps or berry411. It is too bad, I really like the interface. The satellite view is much better as well.

Funny you say that. With each new update, Google Maps interface has gotten pretty, and the functionality has gotten less dependable, unpredictable, and slow. Devolution?
Same is happening with gmail these days too.
I think they've hit a wall.

I agree about the mobile google maps program, that is why I use version 1.6.1 (the last to use the old interface).

That's precisely why I use Telenav for GPS. Good luck with GM! It's still a handy app, just not ready for prime time as a GPS navigation app.
