Default Refresh Service List Problems In BB-8830

Please Login to Remove!

I paired BlueAnt ST3 speakerphone and Plantronics VoyagerPro headset with my BB-8830 without problems and decided to have a closer look at the settings.

Under:

options - bluetooth - BlueAnt ST3 - menu - device properties

the original settings look as follows:

Now, if from this screen you hit:

menu - refresh service list

the settings will change, "echo control" and "handsfree" service will disappear:

This doesn't seem to be correct, as BlueAnt falls under the category of "handsfree" profile because it supports voice dialing, redial and call transfer, features not available in "headset" profile (all those features still actually work ok in BlueAnt). I would expect that using "refresh service list" should have no effect on the settings shown on Device Properties screen. I'm wondering if it's a BB-8830 device software bug.

An attempt to use "refresh service list" with VoyagerPro resulted in a continuous hourglass, hitting Escape cancelled the process and no settings were changed.

Default Refresh Service List Problems In BB-Storm

I have too many handheld services for my bluetooth according to the Storm device properties. This may be the reason I can no longer use the earpiece to voice dial...It only acts as a headset...not a hands-free unit.

If only I could remove all the errant headset services, I'm sure I could get voice dialing to work again...

Any thoughts?

Under:

options - bluetooth - Motorola H700 - menu - device properties

the original settings look as follows:

Services:
Hands-Free unit
Headset
Headset
Headset
Headset
Headset

If I "Refresh Services List" the the top two lines are removed leaving

Services:
Headset
Headset
Headset
Headset

Deleting and then reinstalling the H700 adds the two missing lines.

How can I reset the darn thing to show ONLY " Hands-Free Unit" and no headset. Help!!!
