Default Keyboard / external shortcuts question

Coming from an 8800 I am used to being back to hit the mute button to fully brighten my screen when its on the auto dim settings. This comes in handy when the screen dims itself to adjust for ambient light, but some times its a little too dim and I just need to brighten it for a moment but dont want to turn auto dim off. Is there a similar functionality on the 8110? I have tried the mute button but it doesn't change the brightness.

Also on the 8800 I was able to to a three finger salute to reboot it without pulling the battery and was wondering if there was a key combo that would do the same thing on the 8110

There isn't a 3 finger salute for the SureType devices (and I missed it when I had one!).

Seems like there was an application written for that though - I think it was called Soft Reset or something like that. Can be found in the Aftermarket Software forum here.

I got soft reset working by doing the following on my 8320... I posted this fix/work-around in the thread below.

UPDATE: I now have this working. I reset the "firewall prompt" and "applied defaults". And it now works.

To edit permissions: Go to options-advanced-applications-soft reset then push the menu button to edit permissions, then menu button again to pull up menu... Hope this helps!!
