Default DM (and PC) not aware that "mass storage mode" IS on - Storm 9530

Please Login to Remove!

I have carefull set the "Memory" option on my Storm to indicate that "Mass Storage Mode Support" is ON. However, Using Desktop Manager 6.0.1.18, Media Sync not working. Error message:

Media Services Are Not Available
You need to turn on mass storage mode from the connected Blackberry device to use this feature . . .

However, my computer also does not recognize my BB as being a "Device with Removable Storage"

What is the problem?
What is the solution?

Are the other 2 options correct?
[Can't remember the exact options] but one is usually set to no, prompt or yes to enable a message when you connect the device asking to put the device into mass storage mode.

Try changing that last one to Prompt and see if that helps.

I did apply all the settings that were suggested, and point out that even when I did select "prompt" I was never "prompted" when I connected.

Couple things...

I've noticed that sometimes it takes a long time for the BlackBerry to prompt. Usually it is immediately after connection, but sometimes when desktop manager is already running, it does take a while.

If you have enabled mass storage mode and the computer does not see it as a drive, the first thing to try is a hard reset. That is, with the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds. Then try again after the BlackBerry reboots. If that doesn't work, and yet the computer and BlackBerry are connecting, then I don't know.

Finally, the media features in desktop manager are used with mass storage mode not enabled. Therefore, I do not understand the error message. Do not enable mass storage mode when you intend to sync media with desktop manager.
