Default Sprint Data plan

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my Blackberry 8130 for a month now without a data plan. I am going to sign up for the $30 plan next month. Do you have to commit to a contract for that price or is that the going rate?

I believe it's a 2 year contract.

Where is everyone seeing this $30 data plan for the blackberry? I went on to the sprint website and all I could see is the $39.99 and $49.99 blackberry plan. Am I missing something? I'm going to be switching my service from nextel to sprint and already had my plans in mind but that $30 data plan sounds better compared to the $39.99 (unlimited special).

Default Data Plans for Sprint

I am on Sprint too and I was told the same thing...the only plans that were available were the $39.99 and the $49.99. Spendy if you ask me..but gotta have it I suppose. If there is something else from Sprint, I haven't heard of it.

The $30 plan is a new plan that came out around Thanksgiving. It's a BIS only plan (will not work if you intend to connect your BB to a corporate BES server).

This plan includes unlimited BB data, unlimited text messaging, Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV and Sprint Radio.

Default Sero

This plan he/she is referring to is probably the Sero plan. It's an employee discounted plan where you pay $30 for 500 anytime, 7pm night/weekends, unlimited text, unlimited power vision. It's actually available to the public too, don't think forums allow discussing it, but just do a google search for it and you can get more info on how to set it up.

No, it is not a Sero plan. It is a NEW Blackberry BIS Data Plan.

EDIT: It's actually called the Sprint Power Vision Blackberry Pack. Here is the full description:

This pack is perfect for those who want to get their personal email on a BlackBerry without needing to access a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The BlackBerry Pack includes:

- BlackBerry Internet Service - Set up to 10 ISP (imap/pop3) email accounts.
- Sprint® Navigation - Get UNLIMITED directions, see and hear your progress on a moving map.
- Unlimited web browsing/search.
- On Demand - News, sports, weather and more.
- Unlimited text messages.
- Unlimited data access.
- Also, available exclusively on the 8130 by BlackBerry:
- Sprint TV - Watch CNN, FOX Sports, Disney Channel, The Weather Channel, E!, NFL Network and Sprint Exclusive Entertainment.
- 99˘ Wireless Music Downloads - Wirelessly download your favorite songs from the Sprint Music StoreSM for only 99˘.

- Phone as modem is available for $15.00. Please contact customer care to add this to your account.

Default Sero Plan

Sounds like thats what I need, since I won't be connecting to a BES. Sounds a bit more reasonable. We already have the unlimited texting on all our lines, but if I could save $10 on the plan, its worth it. Thanks for the info!

juwaack is correct. this plan has existed for some time. Sprint's website doesnt show the PowerVision plans unless you add it on to a voice plan. If you go to upgrade your device you will see it as an add-on listed under services.

i do not think, however, it requires a contract extension since it is only a data plan you are adding. I will check into it, but i do believe it can be removed at any time

Well I planned on getting a Family plan because I will be upgrading both phones on my account (mogul/8130). So on top of the family plan I can add the BIS and will need to add a separate power pack add-on for the mogul...is that right?

Default Separate Plan

That is what I had to do. I have 5 lines on my account and each one has its own separate power pack plan. I have the $39.99 plan and the others have the $15 plan.

When I got my 8130 in December, the Powervision BlackBerry Pack was listed on Sprint's website. According to sprintusers.com the plan has been discontinued. You may still be able to get in stores, but I'm not sure?

I LOVE the new blackberry power vision plan.. I really do. I paid 40 dollars my old 8703e PLUS the cost of texting. When I came from my plain old flip phone and was paying 15 for power vision, and 7 for unlimited text......I wasnt too worried about paying another 8 for sprint tv and navigation PLUS the blackberry stuff. Great plan, should have been out sooner IMO.
