Default IT Policy Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all.

I have recently installed BES 5.0.2 in our environment, and we are testing with our personal devices. I have run into a snag involving IT Policies. We created an IT Policy, pushed it out to our devices, and it installed properly.

Now, I have changed the policy, saved it, and resent it to our users. According to the Admin interface, and the devices, the updated policy was recieved and applied. However, the changes made to the policy have not taken effect. For example, I increased the number of password attempts from 5, to 10 in the new policy. Yet, the devices still only allow five password attempts.

Is there any further action required to get the updated policy to take effect? According to the device the updated policy has been applied!

Any information regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

When we increased the password time out on our policy it only appeared to apply to handhelds receiving the policy for the first time. Since the new policy being sent to existing devices was less restrictive, the password time out had to be increased manually on the devices. I believe the same applies to password attempts when the new policy is less restrictive then the old.
