Default SMS app - does this exist?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to send group of text messages to an email address. So if I have an SMS conversation with someone consisting of a few SMS's back and forth, I want to be able to take the conversation and send it by email.

If I were using MSN on my PC it would be the equivalent of highlighting and copying the conversation with my mouse then pasting into Outlook and sending it to someone.

Does anything like this exist?

Depending on how you have your SMS set you should be able to do the same as you mentioned above.

Go to Options > SMS Text and set Number of Previous Items to say 50.

It should should show the previous 50 messages, then you can copy the entire conversation and paste it into an email.

Actually, I have another problem. I can select the messages (highlight them), but I'm unable to copy them anywhere. How can I copy the messages I've highlighted?

Once you have them all highlighted, press the menu key. You should see an option with in the menus for copy. Select Copy. Go into your messages, press the menu key and select Compose email, then go to the body, press the menu key and select Paste.

Unfortunately, my 8900 doesn't have copy listed. I have a bunch of items but none of them copy anything.

Very interesting. I would try a battery pull and then try again.

Battery pull was a no go. I can't believe this is such a difficult thing to do! LOL

Maybe it's my OS, I'm running the latest .206.

The Copy option will only appear when you have text selected (highlighted).

That is definitely odd. If you do the same thing in an email, does it give you the copy option?

Ok, I think I see what the problem is now.

If I go into my SMS message to read it, I can select the text, press the menu key and copy does appear. However, this is not what I need to do.

I need to copy multiple messages at once and paste them into an email.

Let's say I have 10 SMS messages sent back and forth to someone else. I need to copy ALL 10, at once. Not one by one. I want to copy not only the message, but the date and time it was sent. Basically everything that appears on the screen of my Blackberry.

This cannot be done on my device (believe me, I've tried and tried) from inside one of the messages while reading it, nor can it be done from just inside the SMS/MMS folder itself where all the messages are listed. That's why I'm looking for a third party application to do it.

I hope this is clear.

Yeah, It appears that it only allows one text to be copied at a time. My apologies. I am not aware of any app that will allow this.

No Problem, thanks for your help! I don't understand why RIM would omit this from he BB. Seems pretty simple to me, just a copy & paste like they have working everywhere else.
