Default battery life?

Please Login to Remove!

I've recently swapped up from my 7280 to the 8700r.

Anyone else notice the battery life is crap? I mean, I have to charge my phone every 2nd day now, whereas with the 7280 it was once a week or so.

No complaints on battery life from me.

If it's really a problem for you I'd suggest picking up an extended battery.

With the 7290 I never ran it down to the point where I received the radio turning off message (15% battery). But I have a least half a dozen times with the 8700c. It seems the phone talk time is really killing the battery, more so than with the 7290 in as much as I can see.

The only real change to my usage is google local but I don't use it much, not even everyday. So as lgreenberg mentioned, I'm getting the extended battery which should be in my hands by Tuesday.

Regards-Michael G.

With the battery it came with, I didn't have to charge mine but every 3-4 days. But I, too, have the extended battery coming my way and hopefully will have it on Tuesday.

I bought mine on eBay for the same price. Probably from the same seller.

You will need the extended battery door as well. You could have bought the extended battery AND the needed larger battery door for less than $50 from Smart Phone Depot (see link below).

You do NOT need a special case for the extended battery-- the OEM plastic case accomodates the larger battery door because it has an open back and I am told by the Smart Depot web site that the OEM leather holster will accomodate it as well

Smart Phone Depot Link: http://store.bizshopr.com/8700.html

Hope this helps

I got the battery and door in the same auction. Its oem so I know its gonna fit. Plus it was over $10 cheaper on ebay.

Sounds`like you got a good deal. You should be OK with any OEM case.

What's the problem? Aren't we all near an electrical outlet by nightfall? Do you sleep? Buy a regular extra battery for those "busy" days, and charge it at night!!
