Just be prepared for a possible large bill for your data usage.

you're probably on a pay per use basis for internet use (as already mentioned by those above me). opera mini uses the standard TCP settings that are loaded into the pearl (as far as i remember) so you dont specifically need a BB plan to use it (since it doesnt use the BB gateway). but i wouldn't bother if i were you. your bill will be MUCH higher than if you had just taken the BB plan.

someone correct me if im wrong.

I'd still keep an eye on it, that way you won't be completely surprised when the bill comes.

Have fun calling them again when you get your bill and find you are being charged per KB.

Locate Opera Mini on your phone and launch it. Upon the first start Opera Mini automatically tests several Internet connection options. More..."

I just recently got a blackberry pearl from verizon, and I am paying for internet but all I can access is the set webpages. i.e. accu weather, yahoo messenger, VZnavigator. I was under the impression that I could browse the internet freely, is there a way for me to do so? How would I download opera or mozilla to my pearl?

where can i find a link to prove this? i use operamini so much even if i am on Wi-Fi but i still get charged for Internet Connection Charges - different from the BlackBerry Service (you see we don't have flat rates here in the Philippines)
