Ok, i have seen you take some heat on this board so far. i would have to say that if October 28 comes and goes with no 8703 the verizon customers may nail your credibility to a giant wooden cross (figuratively speaking of course)

So what your implying is... T-Mobile will have the 8100 1 month before Verzion customers will get the 8700 series... almost 10 months after it was orginally released as a GSM model....I'm guessing the 8100 will hit verizon shelves late summer of 2007, if they even release one at all.
Seems like a pretty bad bussiness strategy...
PS I agree with BOTH of joe allen's previous posts above.

Is it just me? Can't be.
Is it just me or does it really seem like Verizon has some proverbial body parts up other proverbial body parts so far that it would take the jaws of life to extricate them?
I've been watching this since the rumors started and I'm actually getting to the point where I might jump from the Ship of Verizon Fools. I mean, I really feel like I've been fooled into sticking with them. I keep saying things like, "But they have the best network, it's the most reliable, it's the fastest." Then I look at my old Blackberry when everyone I know on other networks have shiny new 8700's. Some of them will undoubtedly have the 8100 when it comes out and one is already angling with his wireless guy to get the Pearl the moment it's available. In the meantime, I just keep hoping that I'll be able to get an 8700 SOON. "When will then be now?" "Soon!" Ugh.
This isn't just keeping up with the Joneses, I want a new device that can handle the data and tasks I throw at it! If the 8703 isn't out before my 7250 completely disintegrates (missing a few screws and the Speck case is holding it together), I'm outta here, on my way to some other provider with a better handle on getting the new stuff. October is too long to wait, too high a price to pay for second best.

Dude.. where's my berry?
I don't know why people get all heated up in a "Rumor Mill" thread. Doesn't the name itself say enough? It's rumours, not solid facts. If it's true, cool, if not, don't cry over it. Seriuosly, some may have built a reputation for getting the latest juice, which is coo, but what they're giving us is still not in stone. So chillax, if you want to believe what's posted, that's fine, if not, that's coo too, 'cause rumours are to be taken with a grain of salt anyway. I come here for the latest rumours, but had to post my 2cents 'cause it's starting to get childish.

yep, people need to chill out here for sure. We're talking blackberries here, people are like making death wishes and what not. It will come out when it comes out, you can deal with your phone for another month or two, the worlds not going to end.

I was just making a comment on bussiness strategy...
no my life isn't going to end if I have to sit on my Treo for another couple of weeks....however, I was just critizing verizon's failure to keep up with the modern technology in the market.... thats all.

Well, what good is a shiny new 8700 running off of an unreliable network? Not much at all. I absolutely loved my BlackBerry 7230 from T-Mobile, but all it really was was a fancy paper-weight, I couldn't even get reliable reception at the Mall of America, the biggest freaking mall in the country! With Verizon and the 7250, I have a BlackBerry that functions like one, not just as a paper-weight.

Just got an email from my account rep...
...She said I can order the 8703e now, and it will ship as soon as the warehouse has it, "which will be soon"; Official launch is the first week of September.
I will attach the .PDF files she sent later.

$199.99 with a data only plan, $149.99 with both a voice and data plan.
With that said, we always get good deals from VZW, for example, the 7130e costs us $30 for voice/data, $80 for data only.

Sounds like your info is incorrect (download the brochures). Definitely an 8703e and looks like it'll be out within a week or two......

first week of September = October 28? That is fuzzy math right there. That must be a different calendar than I'm used to. Either way, it is nice to see some real documentation out there, and some reps confirming it. Will be interested to see which date it is. Either way, hopefully, this will clear some room on the ledge for us Sprint folks to start freaking out.
