Default Help w/8700g! How do I clear the PIN from Tmobile's network?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys. I currently have an 8700g w/T-mobile's blackberry service. I am going to cancel my T-Mobile account and want to unlock it to Cingular's network. I already purchased the code from gsmphone source; the next step is to make sure I clear the blackberry PIN from the T-mobile network. How do I go about doing that? Do I need to cancel my T-mobile account first? or can I clear the pin without canceling the tmobile account? Please help. thanks in advance.

Call TMo, BB Dept. if applicable? Cancel your data plan and request the release your PIN and IMEI for the BIS servers. Should be stright forward seeing you own the device.

My t-mobile account is a blackberry data plan only. I am on the voicebarred bb data plan for $29.99/month.

1. Do I cancel my account first with customer service and then talk to the bb data dept to have the release PIN and IMEI?

or

2. should I just tell customer service/tech support to cancel the data plan leaving my account with "nothing" and then request the PIN IMEI to be released then cancel entire account?

TMO would have unlocked your phone for free.

To answer your other question, call them.

NO, TMO won't. I'm still within their trial period.

I'll give them a call.

I'd have the PIN and IMEI released first just to be safe. It's a bit easier dealing with the CS reps (both general and Blackberry/data support) when you have an active account.

It's probably not an option in your case but if you have a dead BB you can also transfer the BIS account to the PIN and IMEI of the dead BB (assuming it isn't already associated), freeing your 8700g.
