I have some relatively large PDF's (500kb-3000kb) which I need to have on my 7100.
Now, if I email them to myself as attachments, they can not be downloaded in one shot - a certain amount will be downloaded, and then I have to hit "More" before it will begin to download again.
I have tried eFile, but I find their PDF reader to be unsatisfactory. The text is too small to be readable, and the documents are always justified so that at least part of the text is off screen.
I have tried to post the files online, and download them through the browser, but I just get a "The Requested Page can not be displayed" error - not that I thought this work work anyways, since I recall there being a maximum browser file download size of under 120kb.
Is there another option I can consider to get these files onto my blackberry with a decent reader?
Cerience has recently released RepliGo Professional for BlackBerry which will allow you to download entire PDF's and other Office documents, then save them for offline reading.
I agree. It's a total PIA to download 15% at a time, especially on a 15k attachment. There has to be a better way. If only RIM would make this a customizeable setting!
I think this is basic functionality. For many of us who receive the same attachments every week or even daily, we should be able to determine whether all of the attachment or what percentage is "Mored". For me, it's a royal PIA. I get a small Excel sheet 3 times a day and I have to do a More> 10 times+ to view each one. I shouldn't have to pay for the privilege of getting it all at once, if I know what size it is, or even if I want to receive a particular amount to determine if I want to see more. There has to be a better way, for free. RIM?
Are you on BES? I created a folder called storage which is a sub folder of my inbox. You can email a document to yourself then save it to that folder. For me, this means it doesn't get purged in 15 days. The documents will not be on your BB but it will always be available to you. This also lets you have as many documents as your exchange profile (in my case) will allow you to have.
EDIT: You can also do this with BIS but i'm with TMO who will soon be chaning that service.
