Default HELP! Bluetooth Earpiece CONNECTION PROBLEM

Please Login to Remove!

Periodically my Blackberry (7250) will lose it's Bluetooth connection to my earpiece.

Usually I can simply turn the earpiece off and back on and be prompted on the BB to reconnect...but AT LEAST ONCE A DAY MY B'BERRY STAYS "DISABLED."

- From the main menu, when I select the Bluetooth icon, it reads "Turn Bluetooth On" but doesn't let me do so

- From the Options/Bluetooth menu, no device is listed and it reads "Bluetooth Disabled," but it is unresponsive when you try to enable it

- THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS IS TAKING THE BATTERY OUT AND THEN STICKING IT RIGHT BACK IN...after which I don't even have to reconnect the device, it's as if nothing wrong had ever occurred.

ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM OR A WORK-AROUND (OTHER THAN PULLING OUT THE BATTERY)?!!!

Default Still Need BLUETOOTH HELP

THANKS...but, alas, that does not work...as no device name is available (until I take out my battery and then put it back in, in which case the device name reappears). This has happened in two B'Berry's.

What version of Blackberry handheld software are you running? Go to Options, then About.

The latest 4.0 handheld code for your device should resolve this.

THANKS. Alas, again, have done that...and it did not. After speaking to levels 1, 2 and 3 at Verizon (who had never encountered the problem), I stopped by a Verizon store yesterday and spoke to a tech who uses the same equip. and told me that he has also had the problem.

Clearly a bug that they have not fixed. (Unless you, or anyone else out there knows something I don't

MANY THANKS, though.dw

I have a 7250 also from Verizon and a Motorola HS-820 and i have no problems at all. I suggest deleting the bluetooth device and repairing per your manufacturers instructions. Short of that I would reload the handheld's operating system.

THANK GOD, I am not alone.

Also spoke to a Verizon Tech at one of their stores who really knew his stuff ... and he acknowledged that he, too, has had the problem.

probable cause: handheld died while headset in use.
fix: soft reset + remove/reinsert battery.
afterwards, you should be able to enable options/bluetooth/*.

soft reset insructions: hold ALT (half moon) + SHIFT (cap) + BACKSPACE (del) for approximately 2 seconds.

(note: soft resets and removal of battery will NOT erase any data)

My bluetooth connection drops periodically during the day with the new software upgrade. (Nextel 7520, 4.0.2.37 OS). Perhaps rolling back the installation will work better?

I'm having similar problems with a 7290... I've also turned on the trusted option.

Weird. and a pain.

Similar problems here with 7290 and moto HS820. I have it set for trusted. Every morning when I unplug my headset from the charger, it connects fine. If I don't use the headset for an hour or so, it looses the connection. I have to go into the BB bluetooth options and re-connect it. Sometimes the reconnect works fine and sometimes I have to power the headset a few times to re-establish the connection.

dwarshaw,

I've been having this same exact problem as you.. my workaround has been resetting the blackberry, and it usually comes back on - this is my 2nd 7250, and both of my 7250s have had that problem.. maybes its something to do with VZW's software? it is annoying..

sometimes I can go for 2 weeks without having to reset, sometimes just 1 day.. I use my headset almost all the time to talk on it.. grr

anyone else have any solutions?? thx

Unhappy Question of Standard

Hi Guys,

apparently, the reason for these trouble is common. RIM should some update the OS to stick with the JSR82 standard whoch allow Bluetooth automatic reconnection (or someting like that )

I have the same kind of trouble with and RFID Bluetooth device.
