Unlocked 'em to see what they looked like. It's easy enough to flush the ones you don't like.

I mostly use Zen, but Overlord is good for night ops, since is like a telnet display. The rest is just for fun, and I can add or remove whatever by modifying the alx file.

Streetpro, i like you, unlocked all of the themes, however, it does not give me an option to delete them individually. How do I flush out the themes I do not want, because I am seeing major lag with all the themes unlocked?

Thanks for your help!

You need to know which one is which. They are named net_rim_theme_100_240x260.cod with the first number being a carrier code. My example would be a TMobile theme. Go to the following folder and move the theme .cod's you don't want to another location.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8100-v4.2.0.71_P2.2.0.41 (your version number folder may differ)

Here are the carrier codes I remember off the top of my head:

100=TMobile
102=Cingular
104=Sprint
105=Verizon
109=Bell Mobility
119=Orange
120=Vodafone
125=O2

There are many more but that should help in removing the unwanted themes. Also you can delete them directly from the BB by going to Options >Advanced Options >Applications >click the wheel and select view modules. Delete the unwanted theme .cod's from there. Keep in mind if you do it this way the next time you connect to Application loader it will install them again.

Well, I've long since upgraded, and my battery life sucks.

When I bought my Pearl, the guys said "you won't get as good of life as you do with the 8700" If this is the case and the battery life is supposed to be better on the 8700, either this new OS is a hog, or my battery is toast. . . Is there any way to really check this? One thing I did notice is that the battery that BBerry.com sent me was square on the edges as opposed to the rounded ones (which i think are newer).

Now that this has been out for a while, how is the upgrade working on 8700g's? I'm thinking of going for it.

Potentially more observations to come . . .
Unfortunately, Cingular Wireless does not support the BlackBerry Messenger application at this time.

That does NOT mean that it doesn't work on Cingular. It does work with cingular. It works fine, just don't call them and ask for support for it.

Yeah, you can resent the service books by going to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table, highlighting the carrier/code listed in bold text, clicking on the trackwheel (or the menu button if you're on a Pearl) and selecting Register Now.

I have done the upgrade to my 8700g running on T-Mobile and have had no problems what so ever. The Zen theme has the notification icons back (this was my biggest headache with the T-Mobile OS version of the Zen theme).

Just upgraded from Tmo's .346. Also had no trouble. I don't see a huge difference. Most of the differences seem to be hidden. Just decided to go ahead and try it. We'll see, over time, if it performs better or not.

I upgraded last night without any problems on my 8700c. My only problem is now my Berry will play a wav file, but is unable to save it? Before the upgrade I'd take a wav file and put it on one of my websites, browse to it and then play, then save it and use it as a ringtone. Now the same files, (that were deleted in the upgrade), won't save, so I know it's something to do with the upgrade since it worked before. What's up with that?? Any ideas on something I'd need to change??
