I have heard that Verizon is supposed to have new Blackberry Plans Nov 1, 2007. Does anyone have advance information on what these plans are.

Verizon prices for BB Data Plans are crazy! I use T-Mobile and the unlimited BB Data Plan add-on (BIS) to any regular minutes program is $20/month. You can get either 600 anytime minutes + free nights/weekends or 1000 anytime minutes no free nights/weekends for $40. That's $60 to combine one of these with unlimited BB data vs. Verizon's basic plan at $80/month, and that's for only 450 minutes.

Unless of course you have the need to travel outside of North America and don't really want to switch to the 8830.

Vzw is getting the "Pearl II" which will NOT be GSM compatible - it will only be CDMA enabled. sounds to me like they're finally getting the Curve. it's a shame it's not a world phone - really frustrating.

PS - release date is before thanksgiving. I was told by someone who works at Vzw that it's "probably an update to the Pearl" - but isn't that what the Curve was?

HMMM. Outside what I pay for the phone usage, my bb is $44.95 per month, plus $4.99 for per month for insurance.

I wish Verizon had the Curve ... Hehehe, but I do love my 8830 (Just wish I had a camera) ... The Pearl II is supposed to have Verizon Navigator on it. So I am guessing that us 8830 owners will likely get a software update to finally enable that feature. I there are times that I would like to be able to use the GPS in my 8830.

The Curve is not an "update" to the Pearl.

The Pearl 2 is an update to the Pearl and a new device for VZW.

Here in the northeast Verizon is KING of coverage. But their prices - sheesh! My T-Mobile service is equal to Verizon service for 99% of the places I go. On rare occasions I notice my wife's Verizon phone will get a bar of signal strength when I don't have serice. But that's so infrequent I don't even worry about it. I'm "non mission-critical".

Obviously you do not work for an international company that requires travel. That is why I got a 8830.

You can't compare BB pricing when you are mixing in voice plan costs since the variety of voice plans are so great. TMO's BB data plan is very cheap but I believe you get what you pay for in data speed and coverage area. I want my BB to work everywhere I go and I travel a lot nationwide.

I have twenty eight users with 8830's to manage with Global capability! These things have been nothing but headaches. The device looks great, but since we have transferred over we have had nothing but problems. I have been on the phone more times with Verizon than I care to admit.

The 7250 worked great and the 7290 (AT&T) worked great and my international travellers loved them. Since the switch users are getting spotty coverage and users are reporting emails are getting deleted by the device.

I am not sur ewhat is going on with verizon or our server, but this is killing me!!

Just me venting.

Default Verizon pricing

I agree, voice has a big impact on total price. But if you are like me, and use a lot of voice and data, the data unlimited with BES support from Verizon is only $20 when on the 4000 minute voice plan. And with tethering I am only at $35. Can't complain. And having come from Cingular/AT&T, the voice quality on CDMA is far better than GSM. No darth vader on CDMA.

BIS plans will now be $30 instead of $45.

I am sure you will have to request it.

As an added piece on information Sprint will also be offering a $30 BIS plan in November with unlimited email/data/Text Messaging/Sprint navigation but without tethering support (it is still included in the $40 plan).
