The problem may be your BB, I have a Plantronics 510V and use it all the time in my truck with the windows down doing 65. To say the least if you ride a truck you know it can get noisy especially with the windows down. I have had no issues with people not hearing it and my proof is my son who even without a bluetooth is always saying what, what, I cant hear you, yet he hears me fine with the Plantronics. All that aside I am sure that if you put ten of us together and have us fill out a survey on the bluetooth device we can all come up with ten different answers since all of this would be rather subjective instead of objective.

I'll pair it with another bluetooth phone and see how it works.

Three or 4 months later the 250V broke again! By breaking I mean it stops connecting to any Bluetooth enabled phone, not just my 7100g.
Well last week my now third 250V did the same thing! I have now gone through 3 Jabra 250V's in about 15 months! I don't misuse them, they are in pristine condition... they just don't work.
Now the 510 seems like a nice little headset. Much lighter than the 250V, I like that the boom mic folds up. I was bitterly disappointed in how poorly it worked outside though. Even with the included windsock nobody could hear me.
Voyager 510
Pro:
Small
Lightweight
connects to BB easily and remains connected!
folds up small to go in your pocket
3 different earpieces to find what is comfortable for you
2 windsocks
nice sound quality
Crystal clear when used indoors.
Con:
Only 1 each of the earpieces. Since they have a spongy cushion where do you get replacements? How long will they last?
Can't be used outside without cupping your hand over the Mic.
Doesn't charge via mini-usb so I can't charge in car (same issue with 250V).
Not a very solid connection to charge it.

You can buy an optional mini-USB cable for the 510

Found Jabra JX-10 the best!!
I had tried the Sony Ericsson HBH-608, Jabra BT250v, Jabra BT500, and Motorola HS-850.
Sony Ericsson HBH-608 - Bad design, painful on ear, bad for noisy environments
Jabra BT250v - Fantastic design, comfortable, did not work in airports
Jabra BT500 - Fantastic design, liked the USB charging, lost connectivity with BB device too many times, echo problem - many times people heard their own voice echoing too much.
Jabra JX-10 - Now, this is the real deal. VERY comfortable, size of a postage stamp, sound quality great. No echo for people who are talking to me. Works great in noisy cars, and in airports. USB charging, employs DSP for noise reduction. VERY expensive at $ 179 from Best Buy. But I think the money is well worth it. Th only thing I would think of that is bad, is its ear clip, which is very flimsy. Could snap if you are not careful.

It requires it's own charger, and it's provided when you buy the headset.

Plantronics 320 Explorer?
Has anyone tried the Plantronics 320 yet? I am going to order one for my BB7520 unless I hear really bad things. I will report back as to how well it works.

I just pciked up and have started testing the Nokia BH-800 that is coparable in size to the JX-10. My early impression is that it is a much better unit. Sound quality my be better than the Plantronics 510, comfort is better than the JX-10 as the rubber on the insert is softer and the controls are easier to use. The neck strap is really cool for carrying it too. I haven't made any recordings yet but I have made test calls to friends, even while driving at highway speeds and no negative comments. A full review will follow in the next few days as I put it through its paces.

Yes, I picked it up at Comp USA and I understand it is supposed to be available at Radio Shack too.

John,
I don't want to spoil your review but can you comment on the Nokia BH-800 and using it when the phone is in your pocket?
I've read some reviews that claim it gets very staticy when not in direct line of site with the phone.
This would be a deal breaker for me as the whole point of using a BT headset, for me, is so I never have to touch the phone.

I had it the phone on my left side and the headset on my right and no static. Clear as a bell. I haven't tried it in my left pocket yet but I suspect it will work even better there as other units have worked better in my pocket than on the opposite side of my body.
P.S. I will test on Moto Q and Blackberry 8700.

By the way, the neck chaing for carrying it is very high quality as is the stainless steel ear loop with nice rounded steel end caps. You really don't need the ear loop but when you want to feel secure that you won't lose it, it is nice to have. It is thinner than the JX-10 not as sexy looking but better looking in person than in the pictures. It also comes with a very nice leather carry pouch.

Let me know what price you found it for. It wasn't cheap at Comp USA (I think $161 with tax)

Yeah, not cheap.
But I've never been one to look for bargins.
Radio Shack - $179.99
Comp USA - $149.99
It can obviously be had for less on line as usual.
Mobile Planet - $115.95 for Black and $125.95 for silver.
Mobile City Online - $129.99

I picked up a black BH-800 today.
The fit is wonderful. Better than the JX-10.
It's charging so I won't put it through it's paces until tomorrow.

I am anxious to hear your experience. The fit is very good and comfortable and much to my surprise I actually like it with the ear hook. It is thin and unobtrusive yet very solid feeling. I can wear glasses and it doesn't interfere with them. I like the secure feeling that it isn't going anywhere on its own when the hook is in place. Overall, I think it is a better unit than the JX-10. However, it isn't perfect either. More to come...
