Default 8700c backlight issues?

Please Login to Remove!

I used to have 7100g and I just got a brand new 8700c with Cingular and I have the strangest backlight issue. I let it sit on my desk and it goes "dark". I grab it and turn the wheel and the backlight comes on but it isn't at it's brightest setting! While I am moving around sometimes it will go really bright sometimes I will start of really bright and while scrolling or typing it will go the lower level of light? Doesn't make any sense and I don't see a reason when it does it. So its a 50/50 chance either it is bright light or low light?! I'd rather have it bright light all the time. I have looked through the setting and I just see an option for it! HELP please!!

The 8700c has a light sensing screen.

I don't believe there is. But there is a 3rd party app called BBlight I have seen mentioned in the forums, but I don't know much about it.

BBlight wont work well with the 8700 due to the auto function being built in. Must be a conflict

The advantage to having the backlight set to automatic is that it adjusts the screen and keyboard seperatly. Also the screen gets MUCH brighter in sunlight in auto mode, than it can with auto turned off and brightness set to 100. In the daylight the screen is bright and the keys are dark (saves battery) It's actually really cool!
