This may seem like a dumb question and I think it’s possible but I’d like to know about the possibilities and limitations. My last company had a BES so mail was seamless to my BB. I now work for a small company that does not have a BES.

What is possible to forward and reply to mail from outlook? I can keep my outlook open 24/7 if need be. Is the software for this right on the BB CD? BTW I have a new 8120 on Tmob if it makes a difference.

user BB desktop redirector or wait for BB connect to be launched in North America

run BB desktop manager setup on your machine and select desktop redirector during installation

oh yea missed that part, if youe company support POP then you can use BIS to get your emails, your service provider will give you link for their BIS website where you can register your device

As SoUncool is mentioning, I would set up the BIS and poll the mail.

You can use BIS with OWA as well.

I highly recommend against using Redirector.

Ok guys,, I need a little direction with BIS. I'm very green with this since I've allways used BES in the past. I just activated Enterpise and it worked...

I agree with others in saying that BIS is the best answer if you can use it. I also do not recommend Redirector.

Another option is to forward to either a Yahoo or Gmail account.

I had BES at my old company. Not the company I work at now.. That's why I have no knowledge of how to get corp outlook / exchange email on my blackberry WITHOUT BES. But that's what I have you guys for!!!

I am on Verizon with an 8703e. I have BIS but also synce two different e-mail accounts, one of which is my company exchange/outlook account.

This is how I did it - i will discuss it from my use of the vzw berry, not sure if the BIS e-mail account is the same for T-Mobile but i will assume it is.

Once you have you berry BIS e-mail account set up you should be able to go to e-mail set up on your berry, log in and add additional e-mail accounts for the BIS account to 'poll'.

For you company exchange account, just enter the OWA url, your username (probably in domain\username format) and your password.

The BIS account will add this to the accounts that it will 'poll' on a regular basis (I think it is about 20 mins).

Your berry should get a new inbox icon on the main screen (i guess that depends on what theme you use - on mine it is on the main screen) which will show the company e-mail address.

On my berry it works this way:
I get an e-mail to my company address. Some time soon thereafter the email arrives on my berry. I can read and reply - the reply address is my company e-mail address (not my BIS address). Also, if I receive the e-mail on my company address, do not read it in outlook but read it on my berry it will change to read status in outlook (i.e., not bolded anymore). Also, be careful as to deletion - if you delete the message on your berry with the option delete on handheld and server then you will delete the message in outlook as well.

For me it works very well. I also have a pop3 account 'polled' by my BIS account and that also works very well.

If only it could sync calendar entries as well............. (but then again that is one of the plus features of BES but my company is still too small for that).

You really shouldn't use the carrier supplied email address. First of all, you open yourself up to tons of SPAM as it is totally unfiltered. Second, you can only read email to that address on your BB. If there is a BB outage, then you will without email in or out until services is restored. And third, you do not own that address so it can change at any time (not saying that it will however) and you cannot take it with you when/if you leave your carrier.

If you set up your work account in BIS, then replies will be from that address.

ok, I just added my email account on the tmob web site. It just asked for my email adderess and password. I got a confirmation email on the BB saying it's set up. Is that easy?

Ok it was almost too easy. I just added an email account on the tmobile set up page. I just had to fill in my email add and password. It made an icon for the mailbox on my BB. I sent a test email from my AOL account and it hit my BB in 2 mins. A reply from my BB took 2 mins to hit my AOL account and it was sent from my work add. Amazing!

As others have mentioned there are some downsides. I have never had any spam to my carrier e-mail account (and hope not to) but then again, I never use it. It is only there to service my other two accounts (my corp account and a personal pop3 account).

Clearly, having a BES service would be best but when that isn't an option this is the best other way that I have found.

I struggled getting my exchnge mail on my personal BB as well. I finally found a good work around.

I use the Out of Office Assistant from Outlook. I setup the assistant to believe I am always out of the office and then have it forward my email to a gmail account that I use only for my work email.

There were a few settings I had to get right, but it works and I get my emailsalmost as fast as they come into my computer.

It is not perfect, if I reply the message does come from my gmail account. But this isn't a huge problem, for me.
