Default The Zen Theme

Please Login to Remove!

I got the Zen Theme on my 7100t about a couple of weeks ago. I know its supposed to be slow when you first get it, but i used my phone alot with the zen theme so it can get used to it but its still pretty slow. Is it always going to be slow or will it eventually work fast?

Thanks

the zen theme was never really designed to run on 71xx devices (someone correct me if I'm wrong). That's part of the issue I believe. Having said that, It runs excellent on my 7105t. The only time it's ever slow is if i have to pull the battery for some reason to re-start the handheld, but it quickly speeds up

I have it on my 7105t and after a few times of using my BB it works faster. Just takes breaking in.

710x - it is designed for the 7130 models.

Iv been using it smothly on my 7100t for a while now, its slow on reboots but once each display element has been show once its as fast as any other theme on here. I do generaly have about half a second lag going into messages but thats possibly down to the fact that there are arround 900 in there at any time.

I'm using it on my 7100t. It works great, no speed issues, as long as you do a good job of managing your other files. I did have to trim down the number of other themes and wallpapers that I store on the device to improve the overall navigation speed, but it was a small sacrifice.

That is true just like a computer the more space you have available the faster the device will process the data. If you BB has a lot of software and very little storage space less it will definitely run slower. I removed it from my 7100T as well it was just too slow.

I loaded Zen on my 7100g when I upgraded to 4.1 Cingular ~10-12 days ago.

It worked great for a little over a week and I was really getting used to it. Then I started having problems -- all email greater than 1 week was being deleted (set for 15 days), and my call log was lost. I was also getting the hourglass icon frequently when switching between apps (alt-esc) or shutting the device off. Status was showing the memory leak -- over the week, free memory went from ~6mb to 600k, to <200k when the worst issues were happening...

So I've removed Zen for now. Hopefully a more stable version will arrive soon...

Nevermind that last post I got it. But anyone know why on the zen theme my instant messenging icon went from a bubble with scribbles in it to like a command prompt looking icon when I put it on the home screen?

Thanks!

this is the default icon for IM on T-MO and all applications not native to the BB. 3rd party applications will also show as a DOS looking icon if you put them on the home screen.

I've heard the Telstra 4.1 OS fixes this

The T-Mobile 4.1 OS uses the correct icons too. but you lose the text saying what anything is.

Can someone post a good picture of the ZEN Theme - I hear so much about it - yet I have never seen it.

What makes it so good?

I am having some trouble with Zen on my 7130e, specifically with the 1X/EVDO notification area. With both the Sasktel and Telstra iterations of the software I get something that looks like a bracket ]. When I am in EVDO range, it looks like ]/\/ . Sometimes, the bracket faces the other direction [. Is what I'm seeing indicative of the connection notification style on CDMA networks with Zen?
