I have a 8130 BB, with no data plan. I just installed trakbuddy and its working ok. Am I being charged for GPS usage if I didn't sign up for the data/BB plan?

Cause when ever I go to the GPS options it says that some Sprint PCS apps will be easier to use, if asked if I want to turn it on.

the GPS signal is free, however any maps it downloads from the internet you will be changed data for.

I don't know if Sprint allows your gps to function or not. But Trekbuddy does NOT use data unless you send something using it. Once you download maps to your pc and copy them to the BB you can find your location. Generally, the gps reads signals from satellites and that is NOT data that you get charged for.

But you should check with your carrier to see if they might be charging under some scenario.

You can turn it on, but you will be charged after your 1 free day is up. But if you want to use it more often, you can buy a monthly fee of $30 which includes unlimited data, unlimited SMS/text messaging, and others. You have unlimited GPS use also. There might be other plans, you can check with Sprint if you have questions. I hope this helps.
