Default Parts for the Pearl???

Please Login to Remove!

Two days ago when I was doing a hard re-set (pulling the battery), I happened to break the chrome tab between the charging contacts on the back. This tab is spring loaded and has two clips on the left and right of the actual chrome battery door release part. Does anyone know how I would be able to get this part shipped out, or even have my phone fixed? BTW, I have the T-mobile edition and I am going to call them now.

I haven't seen any parts anywhere yet for the Pearl. They might replace it for you. You may very well end up with a refurb too.

Just spoke with t-mobile c/s rep. She stated that t-mobile does not have any parts for this phone. I sent an e-mail to RIM and I will follow up in this post when I get a reply.

I also have the same problem and I have already contacted RIM and they said they don't offer any parts.

Try www Blackberryrepairshop com I have sent many Blackberries off for repair and they just might have parts for the Pearl or be able to fix it.

Find the person who found a Pearl in a glass of coke. If it cant be fixed, you can always buy parts from that person. BBForums members helping each other out.

While They don't have parts for the 8100 as of yet, cnn.cn is a great place that Ive picked up parts for my slvr that were inexpensive and real OEM.....Most likely when parts become available they will have them....

I did the same thing. I thought the battery door latch was loose, so I was trying to check out the button and popped it off by accident. There must have been a small sprint underneath it because now the button doesn't have any spring left. I talked to T-Mobile about it a few weeks ago and they wanted me to visit a store to check to see if it was the battery door itself, which I knew it wasn't. I've been living with it because I figured they wouldn't replace it since I did it. :(

I'm not quite sure what you guys are talking about but now it seems quite common. Do you mean the things that connect the battery to the phone after you put the battery in the phone? And how did you take the batter out? Or do you guys mean one of the things needed to open the battery door.

I dropped my pearl just a little while ago, and the silver right side got a little dinged up... it would be nice if I could get a replacement of that particular side.

Good luck finding parts, it seems like no one has replacement parts for the Pearl yet.

Yeah I've noticed that ;)

Fortunately there's really no damage except for a couple of nicks and dings, which isn't a big deal to me.

It's probably just a matter of time before parts become available online. (Hopefully)

Did you try the dummy phone? I think that you might be able to get parts from that.
