Do that, Darren, I should have thought of that. Some users are experiencing issues with Media Cards formatted under the 4.1 or 4.2, after they have installed 4.5.

If this has been mentioned before I apologize. How does one use the add folder option in the new OS. I have tried adding a folder but I can't seem to link it to anything.

This appears to be a function of the older themes. I had this problem with the today plus theme
In the end I had to use one of the prepackaged themes that came with the new OS.

I just jumped from 4.2 to this version of 4.5, and heard the Today Plus theme would no longer be compatible. No idea if this is true or not, I didn't feel like trying to load up a busted theme.

I found a version online that people claimed was compatible with 4.3, and also 4.5...Seems to work fine with 4.5, even though it claimed it was the same version I had previously when I installed it. I haven't tried a battery pull, so I don't know if the hidden icons will unhide themselves (and frankly it's such a pain in the ass that I'm not going to try it until I need to).

OTA Linky: http://mobile.blackberry.com/resourc...us_240x260.jad
I tried your link and it still doesn't work. It makes the BB sloggy and the hidden and moved icons don't withstand a battery pull.

Rats! I've got 4.5.37 and the washout. Going on a week long motorcycle/camping trip next week Tuesday. I didn't plan on packing a separate camera. I have a USB charger installed for my BB; nothing for my old camera.

Most often folks refer to application numbers. The first official release of 4.5 OS for the 8100 was app # .37 (package .52 I think). This one, the latest, is app# .52 (package .75)

Hope that helps.

Default Thank you, Moonshadow

That helps - thanks. Next question - what is the Folder option being discussed?

Well that's a good question! 4.5 allows you to "add a folder" from some of the menus. I am on BES and can only add a folder on my BB desktop. Doesn't do anything. If you are using BIS for your email it may allow you to add folders to your email.

In previous posts in this thread it refers to the missing media files and provides a link and instructions to get them on your BB. This file contains additional wallpapers and custom folder icons. It has to be installed in device memory and is about 2 megs in size so you want make sure you really need them before installing.

Ya know, this new .52 doesn't seem any faster than the old .37.

You say the camera problem is fixed in the beta .55? Lemme go search for that....

An OS "upgrade" doesn't mean your device will be faster.

Default Red LED...

Hello. I'm new here but have been following the updates on the OS released by different carriers.

I had 4.5 [.37] earlier, but upgraded to this today.

I am, however having a problem. Everything works fine but the LED indicator light. As soon as I get a call or receive a text, the red flashing light stays on. It will not turn off. This bug happened both in .37 and this more recent OS version.

Is this a known problem with these releases, or is my issue an isolated one? And what can I do to resolve it?

I like that the indicator LED flashes like it always used to, but if it continues to stay on whenever my phone does something it's supposed to, then I'd rather not have the battery life drained, and will downgrade back to OS 4.2 until an official version is released for my carrier.

Welcome to the forums!!

The LED usually stays on if ColorPearl is still installed. ColorPearl does not work properly on 4.5.

Well, I upgraded, but something seems to have gone wrong along the way. I had to reinstall service books, etc. Also, the os seems somewhat incomplete. I cannot stream media, and I only have text messages -- no html and no option to turn images on or off. Is there a way of "re-running" the installation? I tried, but the loader seems to recognize all the applications and modules as current. Thanks.
