Pull the battery first...
what OS are you running and confirm what model? 8300 or 8310?

Mine and my wife's does that about once a month. Pull the battery with the phone on as stated above and it should fix it.

I had same probleme with AT&T 8310 about 3 weeks ago. So, I pulled the battery, waited for 10 seconds or so, replaced the battery, and everything worked a-okay.
The battery pull thing is just some type of urban magic or something.
