Default Verizon Curve 8530 vs Tour

Please Login to Remove!

So Verizon just announced the 8530
I was thinking of getting a Tour
Should I wait?
I have not seen a comparison review yet comparing these two phones.

It seems that the camera is of poorer quality. Aside from having wifi and the trackpad.

Wirelessly posted (AT&T 8100 Pearl)

Tour takes nice pictures outside as do the Pearls and Curves.

I have to clean up every indoor Tour picture with Photoshop.
Not impressed. Will it always be a "camera phone" quality?

I may just go buy a nice camera instead.

And the screen resolution is much higher on the 9630.

The Tour is generally considered a higher-end device than the 8520. And the Tour2 is due out soon, adding WiFi to the package. If you're going to wait, that's the one to wait for.

The Tour will have: That the 8530 does not have.

3.2 MP camera for better quality.
Run of EVDO RevA. So the wireless network will be quicker.
better screen with higher resolution.

The 8530 will have: That the Tour does not.
Trackpad
Wifi
That's it.. This is essentially a small step up from the the 8330, which will become very obsolete upon the Tour 2's release.

As long as there are camera phone optics and sensors, yes. MP isn't everything. It's quite pointless to assume that more MP automatically means better photo quality (it doesn't necessarily).

Yea I may just give back the Storm2 and use my 8330 till the Tour 2 release.. That device should keep me going for a while. It will have everything.

the 8330 aka the blackberry nano, Bold/Tour mini or Bold/Tour light... another difference cited here "Also the Tour has a more potent battery at 1400mAh vs the Curve at 1150mAh" Blog: New Blackberry Curve 8530 up on Sprint web site
