I'm located in Denver and my shipping label says Fort Worth, TX, although FedEx says the picked up the package in West Chester, PA.

Anyway, its all good now with the 8703.
Personally I only care when I *don't* have coverage. Flashing when I do have coverage is like having an "everything is OK" light.

Go into your phone screen ( press the green phone button) and then click the wheel to options and set dial from home screen to off. This will enable you to use keyboard shortcuts...

I think it's a 15-day return policy.

What I meant was that my typing skill -- in terms of me being used to the keyboard, the layout, the buttons, etc. -- isn't nearly up to par as it was on the 7130e. The 7130e has fewer keys, which makes for faster typing, but more potenetial errors. The 8703e has more keys with discrete characters.

So the key rate issue, unless I'm misunderstanding something, isn't what I was getting at, because the keys are responsive and all that.

What I'm really getting at is that do people get faster on full QWERTY keyboards than something like the 7130e? Any real-world opinions on that?

Default 7130e to 8703e this week - love it!

The only issue I am having so far is that I can't get apps to load on my 8703e via the Desktop Manager. I browse and pick the file (in this case I'm trying to get BBWeather on my new device) and it tells me no applications were found. Do you think that the app won't work on the new device?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Even though I just got my 8703e yesterday, I like it MUCH better than the 7130e. I think it is faster, the screen is much improved and I am so thankful to have a full keyboard again!!

The full keyboard is taking me some time to get used to, actually.

Smile Figured it out....

I figured out the issue with downloading apps to the 8703e through Desktop Manager. I needed to download a newer version of the device.xml file from BlackBerry Support. Once I replaced the new file with the old one, it worked great!

Default 8703 case

Fortte's got the case advertised as the same as much of the 8700 cases. I had good luck with their closed face leather, like a clamshell design, and I'm going to try the open face.

fortte dot com

If you want it fast, you have to get it in black. I'm going to wait and get one of their saddle leather series which is 2-3 weeks.

I had found a discount when I ordered, promotional code they call it, by searching the forums, but I can't seem to repeat that search now.

I'll probably buy a cheapy at the Tmo or Cingular store, to tide me over till it shows up.

Now where is that guide on how to transfer over the data from the old 7750 to the new 8703?

If it is similar to the 8700c unit (which I think it is) my answer is NO. I learned that searching for louder ringers to download to your phone can help. It seems some rings are so soft and some are so much more loud even though the phone is set at the same setting.

Vibrate is what it is. A new firmware update isn't going to make the motor vibrate any harder.

Very interesting. Well as hard as I tried to not drop the 5 Bens for the 8703e my addiction won today. I just ordered mine. Once I have it in my hands I will be able to make better informed comments.
