Default BBCalls will not delete

Please Login to Remove!

OK, this is not in the search that I can find. I have a bb 8800 with t-mobile.

I downloaded an application called bbcalls. I decided I did not want this application and deleted it from my applications list inside my advanced options, or so I thought.

I came to find out that while this app no longer shows up on my app list, or permissions list, it remains on my desk top and is still functional. I have pulled my battery, multiple times. I have wiped my phone only to have it show right back up again and still functional.

I am not sure what else to tell you. So, what is going on here? Any ideas on how to get rid of this from my bb.

Well, here is an update. I have wiped my phone which didn't remove said application. I have gone into my desk manager and through the advanced option tried to wipe all of my applications, which didn't work either. I have spoken to T-mobile blackberry people and they have not heard of such an issue before. I couldn't get to the RIM people last night as they were swamped. So, I remain with this issue and no more ideas of how to get rid of this application.

Wirelessly posted (8100 pearl: Mozilla/4.8 [en] (Windows NT 5.0; U) BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I've had that problem too before. But with a different program. I backed up my info. (everything but 3rd party apps) and restored through desktop manager with a clean firmware file. It worked fine after that. What I think the issue is, I think it embed itself in the system software. It has happened on my pearl. Download a clean firmware from www.t-mobile.com/BBupgrade. Select your model and get the handheld software. Restore your device with that, wipe from the handheld, and reinstall it again. It should be off by then. If not, I would call rim back with your case number. That's a really weird issue

Well, I have completely reinstalled my OS and in the process the "unidentified module bbcalls" was discovered and removed. I also removed all of my third party applications, which I will reinstall later. This seems to have corrected the problem. Now I only have to go back and reinstall the applications that I wanted to have in there in the first place.

dankarlinski, thank you. I think this is actually what I have done. You are the first one to mention having a similar problem. It is weird, you are so correct on this as well. Thanks for the help!

Default Weird

Are there many things out there that stick themselves to BB's OS? I have read alot about the growing trend of cell phone viruses out there. Fairly new to the US from what I understand, but there are tons of viruses for phones in China and Japan....from what I've read.

rjansen3, I certainly do not know about this, however, I must admit that having gone through this with this particular app, I wondered about the same thing. This has made me alot more cautious about the apps I put on my phone.
