I have searched for information on this subject but have found nothing. I'm wondering if there's a way to turn on some audio notification which will tell me when my BB 8700c goes in and out of service. We have multiple cell dead spots around Boston, and having some note of this would be helpful. I had such a notification on my old Sprint/Sanyo cellphone, but can't find any way to do this on the 8700c.

I don't believe the unit has this functionality natively. I do know that you can turn on an LED (green color) to let you know if there is coverage or not. But not an audible notification.

I thought I'd looked thoroughly through the many, many settings on the 8700c, and couldn't find it. I guess such a notification setting is not there.
