Cross River Systems is pleased to announce all new versions of our applications that are all fully compatible with the Storm.

In addition to Storm compatibility, PocketDay has a new look to match the new model BlackBerry devices. Essentially, a black background with all the colors still configurable by the user.

Default PocketDay 5.5 out

Just got an email of an upgrade. Not sure what the new features/fixes are, but the world clocks are now huge.

Nice feature if you like the Black background. Make sure to check the line between sections if you choose it

With PocketDay open, press the Menu key, select Settings. Under General, you can choose the black background. Then there are sections for the different settings. They are mostly self explanatory.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

You may also want to look at the screen setup section.

Default Bug

When I scroll down on emails when using the black background, I'm getting white shaded bars across multiple emails toward the bottom (i.e., above the text messages). I've cleared out all emails and also rebooted, but the problem keeps coming back. It does not appear to occur when I only have a few emails displayed.

Anyone else seeing this? CRS - thoughts?

I am getting also the same thing; the shade appears too across the word Google (searchbar), when scrolling.

When this shading happens, how many emails are visible? What's the exact screen section order you have?

I checked their web site for the release notes but they still have 5.4.1.6 there. Does anyone know what other changes there are besides the black background?

One change I have noticed in 5.5 (although it may have been in one of the later 5.4 versions) was that 'HTML' mail using the internal Pocket Day mail reader works. To clarify, you know how when using the RIM mail client and you have it set to 'always download images' but it never does? Well, if you click on the email detail line from PD and read the email from there, all the images are there. But note that it's only when you do that from there, not when you go to the Inbox.

One small change (well, small to a non-programmer, hehe) that I would like to see in future versions is a change to the signal indicator in the header area. I think it currently shows E for EDGE and 3g for 3G, which for the most part is fine. But since there is a difference between edge and EDGE and 3G and 3g (where edge and 3g indicate no data connectivity, but EDGE and 3G indicate all is well), perhaps these can be incorporated.

Another small change (okay, so I lied, hehe) is the carrier display in the header area when connected on WiFi. Currently, it shows CarrierName-SSID. Can this be changed to CarrierName-WiFiProfileName? Not a real biggie I suppose, but some public wireless networks give goofy names to thier broadcasted SSID's, so it'd be nice to use instead the name you give it (which is usually a better indicator to the user which network one is connected to).
