Verizon disables the gps unless you subscribe to their own offering for $10/month. BUT you can purchase a separate bluetooth gps (called generically a puck) and use that with some other 3rd party gps programs.

I hate to bump such an old thread but after months of searching for the source of my GPS problem, I believe this may be what is wrong with my blackberry, the GPS has not worked on it since I uninstalled mapquest navigator.

I actually have a copy of QPST but sprint won't give me my MSL and I don't know the correct PDE IP address.

you can use the UniCDMA to read the MSL

My BBMaps App was never able to acquire a sattalite lock until after i downloaded and intalled Nav4All now it works like a dream.
