Not sure, but I dont think so. The sim card slot for the 8700 is under the device, kinda in a dip. So I dont think that that type of adapter would work. Maybe I'm wrong

I'm pretty sure it works. I have used dual sim card before for a PPC phone. It just taked a restart for switching. It's not that different of a size to the original sim card so it won't be any problem.

The blackberry works flawlessly! I gaurantee you.... I have been using my phone for days now and constantly jump over to the other sim card.

The phone does not shut off.... it actually switch's to the other sim card right away.... when you insert the dual sim card holder an icon will pop up on your blackberry under applications... it will say DUAL SIM..... The blackberry detects this with no problems at ALL and it functions 100%.....

I will post pics once I get some time to do it.....

If any of you need advise on how to place the second sim card over the battery let me know..... It will be a little struglle at first to close the battery cover and you probably won't think it can close but with a little shift of the sim card the battery pops in to place with no problem at all!

hi DMX,

the link you posted is for a BB7290 Dual Sim Card. Within the same site, I also found a dual sim card for BB8700:

Link here: Blackberry 8700c Ghost Dual SIM

Are you saying that even their instruction says you have to reboot your phone each time, in reality, you don't need to restart? Did you eventually buy from the link you posted (Ghost Dual Sim), or from some other company?

I have ordered the Ghost Dual SIM for 8700c, and would greatly appreciate it if you could share some more details such as the installing steps you did.

This will be so useful when we travel abroad. No more worries that we may lost the other SIM card.

Thanks!

STK must stand for Sim Tool Kit. I've ordered one too for my 8700

probably can't connect on both SIMs to the BES/BIS, but could do phone or internet.

Please let us know how this works.

I can see how it could be handy and useful for those who travel overseas.

Can you do one on BIS with dual SIM? If I lose the email function by using Dual Sim Card, then there is no point to use. Am I missing something?

Where do you buy the Sim Tool Kit?
