Just updated my wife's phone to a Bold 9900. There was a password on it but when I try to disable it, it will not let me?

You will need to wipe the device before she can use it. Also, I would see what the story was from the person or place you first bought it.

Interesting, If you do have the password and the security wont let you turn off the requirement for a password, it may be a setting from her company which prevents it from being turned off. The next problem if it is a company phone is she authorized to do any updates. Does she need her job?
